At the beginning of last December, the city of Marseille, as European Capital of Sport 2017, organized an event framed within the European TELETURF project, bringing together representatives of numerous European public and private entities that have a relationship with sports in general and with artificial turf, maintenance and training in particular.

During the event, the main objectives of the project were explained, which consist in improving the safety and quality conditions in the artificial turf sports fields throughout Europe through the improvement in their maintenance. Among all, we can highlight the control and periodic evaluation of their properties, the influence of their design, how they affect the differences geographic and climatic, or the affection of the use and utilization in the sports surface. Particular problems were also brought together and possible solutions were discussed.

This working group, which met periodically to monitor the project, had a first session in Valencia on April 1 and 2, 2017 at kick-off meeting and the next event will be held in Brussels at the European Parliament in September 2018 where the preliminary results of the project will be presented.
